Windows 10: My computer thinks I’m on an Ethernet connection...

My PC was working perfectly fine on the internet for around an hour or so, but at one point my internet seemingly disconnected. I checked my WiFi, and my PC is showing the symbol that comes up when you’re connected to an Ethernet connection. When I go into the menu, it’s still coming up as being connected to my WiFi, but my internet isn’t working. It’s working fine on my phone, I’ve tried restarting and using the built in windows troubleshooter but I’ve had no luck.

• What kind of computer are you using? Is it a desktop or a laptop?
• Did you make any recent changes to your computer?
• Have you tried troubleshooting the issue by yourself? If yes, what were the steps you have taken so far?

I would suggest you to try the following and check:

• Verify that the cable connects the modem to the wall jack is connected securely.
• Verify that the cable connects the computer to the modem is attached securely at both ends.
• Restart the router/modem.

My reliable ethernet connection no longer works

To better understand the query, please answer the following questions:

• After restarting is your computer in normal mode or not?
• Are you getting any error message?

I suggest you to reset the modem\ router and check if the Ethernet connection works or not.
