Windows 10: Are/What pak files are safe to delete?

I was recently running low on space so i thought i should delete giant files.I went to This PC then i clicked on the Local Disk and I searched size:gigantic.When i searched it all of the files we're pak files.I recently downloaded Fortnite for my little cousin, and before I downloaded Fortnite i had atleast 90 GB free.On the epic games launcher it said that Fortnite was 32.4 GB so i downloaded it.The next day i deleted Fortnite and went to install Zula.For Zula it said it required 5.4 GB of space, but when i tried to download Zula it said i was 4.3 GB short.I went to the File Manager went This PC and i saw that i only had 1.1 GB of space left.Since PAK files may include graphics, objects, textures, sounds, and other game data "packed" into a single file, I thought that they may be from my Fortnite download.So, I am asking if PAK files are safe to delete and if they are do I back them up to One Drive first or do I delete them right away?

Is PAK and DAT file safe to delete? Is it like an EXE file? analogy like gun shells? you shoot and the shell squirt out and it is worthless.... something like that?

or PAK and DAT file is like perminent file? we delete and dont make our game work?

I probably will make the game unusable. As said, .pak-files are simply folder with textures and sounds etc.. If you delete it, this game won't have anything to go on.

You ask if they are safe to delete, yet I'm more curious about this 'win dir stat program,' and that you're comfortable deleting executable and dll files but not .pak or .dat ....

You shouldn't have many .pak files just randomly appearing on your system. They would be relevant to some application, so if you properly remove said software then they should automatically get removed as well.

Where are you finding these files?
