Korg Kronos is still not recognized in any midi port in Windows 10

I have uninstalled, reinstalled the latest drivers from Korg for my Kronos. All the Windows drivers are apparently in check and up to date as well.

The "Korg uninstall tool" reflects, that the Kronos is in "midi 1". So it should be fine, right? Also I use Waves Soundgrid. It seems to have existence on ports higher than 10, but they work. To be more confusing, which I'm not trying to add to the complications, Waves Soundgrid SuperRack is a main program that I want to use with the Kronos. In the midi "Controller" area, apparently I can add the Kronos "in", and the "out" would be sound. Or, I can midi "thru" if I choose. But this makes me think, that the Kronos is recognized by Soundgrid. Not just as an audio device, but as a midi device. But none of my other programs recognize the kronos as being in any port.

Not the Karma Kronos program, nor Kronos editor, Korg editor, Reaper or anything else seems to recognize it as being in any port. But Windows seems to and so does Waves Soundgrid SuperRack, from what it looks like. It shows up in devices I can add. So I assume it must see it.

I have to get the system all working together hear.

The following is what is connected right now and works together, but only with the Kronos as an audio device. In other words, I'm playing the keyboard through the system. But not as a midi device. >

    Korg Kronos

    Behringer X32 Producer

Waves Soundgrid Impact combo: Impact server, WSG card installs in the Behringer X32, Netgear Switch

    Dell computer: Windows 10 Pro

I've had assistance so far from the good folks at KARMA software. But still, the suggestions he gave me still won't help.

Korg just never seems to respond at all. Seems to wash their hands of it all and make it Windows Problem.

I don't want to bother the folks at Waves either. Unless this is partly their problem too.

I just need to make it all communicate and the use the Kronos as a controller, record and edit in PC programs.

    HELLLLP! just sayin'

    :)

  2. Korg USB driver no longer works after Windows 10 Version 1903 update

I found this article: How to set AMP to use manually selected ports.

I observed that midi6 was not used, so I changed the Korg driver to use (all 3 places, under the class Media, under Drivers32 and Setup\Upgrade...\USB ) it instead of
midi1. Now when you run the Korg Uninstall Utility, the "KORG KRONOS <Connected>" shows up on the first screen as "midi6", however "Standard Driver [KRONOS] <Connected>" still shows up on the second screen as "midi10". Even after getting
to this point, the driver is still not recognized. I am almost ready to let Windows restore it self back to the previous version. I hate to give up trying to get this to work!

  3. Windows 10 Midi Keyboard not working

Here is some more detail on what I did to solve the issue.

First I connected all of my midi devices at once regardless of it they work or not. I did this so device manager shows me what is really going on in the next step. I have quite a few devices doing midi or usb.

Second I started control panel, went into device manager, changed view to show hidden devices and expanded down the sound, video, and game controllers. I right clicked and uninstalled any midi devices that were grayed out
and had a non-grayed out duplicate, right before doing this make sure to unplug the devices your having issues with, windows will warn you to do so. This removed quite a few devices as windows
installs a new one every time a device is plugged into a different usb port is used even if it's the same device.

Third, I checked the Unistall Korg midi-device utility. You can get this from korg's website and it installs as part of their usb driver. It works even if you don't have korg devices and you can uninstall after you fix things. When I ran the installer
I verified that I had free midi ports below port 10 after the clean up from step 2. Before step two my problem devices were getting assigned midi ports in the high teens/low 20's.

Fourth, I plugged in the problem devices and turned them on letting them reinstall. I then again ran the korg uninstall midi-devices utility and verified the problem devices grabbed a midi port under 10 which they did, for me I had three problem devices.
I verified all the problem devices now work.

  4. Korg Kronos is still not recognized in any midi port in Windows 10

Korg USB driver no longer works after Windows 10 Version 1903 update

After the version 1903 update, my Korg Kronos MIDI keyboard no longer can communicate via USB. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers but the problem cannot be fixed. I tried following the instruction of a manual fix to the registry covered in the
    article at:

Fixing Korg USB Midi driver issues in Windows 10 May 2019 / November 2019 Update

however I am not versed at making changes with Regedit and do not know how to add a second "midi2 entry under a single "Alias" name. Can anyone share any information concerning this problem?
