BLANK screen, again, with Feb. update.

For some reason, and I suspect it has to do with bio-metric device I disabled, about every three or four months I get a blank screen after an update. When I don’t get the blank screen, usually after the restart, I see a command window open an states something to the effect of loading personal settings. Open and closes too fast to get a reading.

In the past I hook a monitor to my blank screen laptop, and with dual screen setting, I am able to navigate and attempt to fix the problem. After trying, can’t find pattern, of disabling/enabling, uninstall/install, updating device, or combination I fix the problem. At least temporary, until MSFT next update that leaves me in the dark screen.

Well this time I tried one of the actions on the support page. It said to do a SAFE Boot.

Well I did and now I have TWO BLANK screens. My laptop original problem and the monitor debugger helper. MSFT, if you suggest doing a safe boot for the blank screen, at least load the module that allows dual screens. At least with the dual screen it provides the opportunity to navigate on second screen to restore to an early date.

The only thing I can think of now is to put the hard drive in another computer and hope it boots successful, since the hardware is not identical, and change the Safe boot to do a normal boot. Then return the hard drive to the original computer and try to find a solution to the blank screen.

MSF the fact that there has to be a page dedicated to a Blank Screen says a lot about the quality of the code.

Any and all comments from the community is appreciated. Help!

    :)
