  1. Administrator Permissions Denied on C;/Drive including all Windows 10 System files

I run Windows 10 Home up-to-date on an ASUS All-in-one Desktop PC 64-bit

Windows was activated with Digital Licence linked to MS Account.

My Windows User account is listed as Administrator.

I still have full access to the partitioned D:/ drive and all connected external Hard-drives.

I cant change any permissions or ownership on C; Drive partition

I can't add or delete Windows User Accounts, or change security settings.

I can't open the Command Prompt in Administrator mode "Your system administrator has blocked you"

Command Prompt keeps defaulting to C:/Users/Rain - no other C:/ path is accessible.

Unable to 'activate' the in-built "hidden" Administrator Access Denied

Reset PC and Restore Functions do not work either.

Safe Mode didnt help. Same result.

Went to download the Windows Installation Media Tool, to try and do a Repair/Reinstall or worst case, full clean install
    - and it wont download either

    Gives Network Error Code: 0x800704b3

    Windows can't find the path?

In short, anything that needs to use any of the Windows files located on C;/drive no longer works.

Some of my Apps are still working, I guess the ones that dont share Windows files?.

I'm surprised it still connects to the wifi/internet !!

And overall, its very slow and freezing a lot.

Perhaps I need to do a reinstall from "hard" installation media, like a solid DVD disc?

    Any advice?

    :)

  2. Access denied on my C drive

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand the inconvenience you are facing currently. Let me help you in resolving the issue.

Try the following steps and check if it helps:

    • Right-click the C: Drive that you want to take ownership of, and then click
      Properties.
    • Click the Security tab, and then click
OK on the Security message, if one appears.
    • Click Advanced, and then click the
      Owner tab.
    • In the Name list, click your user name,
Administrator if you are logged in as Administrator, or click the
      Administrators group.

If you want to take ownership of the contents of that folder, click to select the
Replace owner on subcontainers and objects check box.
    • Click OK.

You may receive the following error message, where Folder is the name of the folder that you want to take ownership of:

You do not have permission to read the co1ntents of directory
Folder. Do you want to replace the directory permissions with permissions granting you Full Control? All permissions will be replaced if you press Yes.
    • Click Yes.
    • Click OK, and then reapply the permissions and security settings that you want for the folder and the folder contents.
Also suggest you to go through the article and follow the steps given. Here is the link for your reference.
