Windows 10: Surface Pro 6 multiple Event logs for Hub Serial errors

    Surface Pro 6 multiple Event logs for Hub Serial errors


    Surface Pro 6, Windows 10 1903 - 18363.657. All Updates installed. Surface Dock FW update 1.42.139, and Surface Pro Update 19.092.253000.0 installed.

    The event log is dominated by these errors:

    Id: 17408. SurfaceAcpiNotify RQST2,13,1 error:6

    id: 10. SurfaceSerialHubDriver Surface Serial HUB driver invalid signature received

    Id: 11. Surface Serial Hub Driver Surface Serial HUB driver invalid checksum received

    Id: 13. Surface Serial Hub Driver Surface Serial HUB driver spurious Ack found Sequence number =127

    Id: 5. Surface Serial Hub Driver Surface Serial HUB driver get ack failed Target Category = N/A, Sequence number =127


    These occur in groups but not always in the same order, or not all of the various errors, as above, typically around the time I wake/sleep the device.


    As the events mention a Serial HUB: I do have a Surface Hub. It is _not_ connected when these events occur. Also the Type cover is disconnected.


    I do not see any other side effects of these "Error" events.

    Except recently I had a bugcheck: 0x09, 3, 0xffffd48f1a0d7cd0, etc. Power Drive State failure: A device object has been blocking an IRP for too long a time.

    No yellow exclamations or red marks in Device Manager.

    sfc /scannow - no errors

    dism ... /scanhealth - no errors


    I have run, without any error indications, the Surface Diagnostic Tootkit. No fixes.


    So what is wrong? A google search doesn't find anything much relevant.
