  1. Terrible performance, and I have no clue why

Recently, my computer started to experience big issues playing YouTube videos. I used to be able to watch 1080p60 quality just fine (provided that nothing was loading the network), but now I'm basically stuck to 480p. The videos "buffer" even when there is already buffered footage, it takes over a minute for a video to start, and sometimes again over a minute to go to/from fullscreen (the video gets stuck in a strange fullscreen transition phase where it keeps playing but can't be paused).

Now the overall performance also dropped a lot, it takes many times longer to open programs, games are laggy...

I have no idea what is causing this and what to do. I am updated, I defragged, ran antivirus scan, ran Malwarebytes scan, cleared all caches and temp files, removed over 200GB of trash/unused files, disabled almost all background processes...

The actual cause seems to be CPU and disk usage unexplainably spiking (hence why I ran multiple virus scans). When I open task manager, it usually just says something extremely vague, such as that "System", "System Interrupts" or some other system app (located in system32) is behind the usage. When I try googling the process name, all the time I just come up with results saying that it's the "system", again, extremely vague and useless information that doesn't help me troubleshoot whatsoever.

Any ideas about what more I could do? If it comes down to me reinstalling the system, I'm probably just gonna go with Linux Mint that's been running on my laptop for years without issues like this.
