Windows 10: Something is eating my free storage space

    Something is eating my free storage space


    Something is eating my free storage space. I almost ran our of space on the drive where Windows 10 is installed. So I compressed that whole drive. That freed up 9 GB. However, over the next couple days that free space became, 7 the 6 then 5 then 4 and now 2.5 GB. I have installed no new apps or software and clean out all system files such as temporary files, recycle bin, etc. every day. Any idea what can be causing this and what can I do before the whole computer locks up?

    storage space rapidly decreasing

    Thank you very much for responding. I will definitely try your suggestion. I did however want to make a point of the fact that the storage space is Constantly decreasing in size. So even if I find a program taking up space-what could possibly cause it
    to KEEP taking up space? so its not an issue of- a program was installed and is very big taking up a chunk of space-the issue is something is consistently eating away my 1TB hard drive. again-new computer. Thanks for your help.
