  1. WINDOWS DEFENDER INDICATED I HAD ALLOWED MISLEADING WIN32/LODI TO RUN

WINDOWS DEFENDERI'M RUNNING WINDOWS 10 INDICATED I HAD ALLOWED MISLEADING WIN32/LODITO RUN AT LEAST WHEN I RAN DEFENDER AND CHECKED THE RESULTS UNDER "ALLOWED "LIST. IT SAID THAT EVEN THOUGH I HAD NEVER MADE SUCH A CHOICE TO DO SO.

HOW DID THIS MISLEADING WIN32/LODI GET INTO MY COMPUTER AND PUT ITSELF ONTO THE ALLOWED LIST SO THAT IT COULD ESSENTIALLY FOOL DEFENDER INTO ALLOWING IT TO RUN EVEN THOUGH ITS MALWARE? IS THAT ALL THAT MALWARE NEEDS TO DO TO FOOL DEFENDER IS JUST TO TELL DEFENDER ITS ALLOWED TO RUN AND DEFENDER WILL ALLOW IT? HAD I NOT BEEN CURIOUS AND CHECKED THE LISTS I WOULDN'T HAVE FOUND IT. I ACTUALLY CHECKED QUARANTINED ITEMS AND IT CAME BACK SAYING IT HAD RECEIVED BAD DATA SO THEN I CHECKED ALLOWED ITEMS AND THAT'S WHEN I SAW THE "MISLEADING WIN32/LODI", AT WHICH TIME I CHECKED WHAT IT WAS THEN CAME BACK AND REMOVED IT AS WAS RECOMMENDED WITHIN THE DEFENDER APP. RAN SUBSEQUENT SCAN ALL GOOD. GOING TO RUN FULL MALWAREBYTES ON DEMAND SCAN NEXT

IN ANTICIPATION OF YOUR ASSISTANCE, THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

    :)
