Windows 10: Parallels Desktop breaks Bootcamp Manager bootcamp.exe

Hello everybody,


I have a problem with Parallels Desktop breaking Bootcamp.exe.


To explain what happens, I'll describe the process step by step.

First of all, I'm using a MacBook Pro 15" 2017, 2.0 Ghz i7, 16GB RAM running macOS Catalina 10.15.3 and Windows 10 Pro 1909 build 18363.657 on bootcamp partition.

Let's consider I'm on Windows 10 now. Everything works fine. No problem at all. So I reboot to Mac Os, launch Parallels Desktop and start Windows. Still, everything looks fine. No a single problem. Now, if I restart my MacBook into Windows, Bootcamp.exe is not working anymore. This means that the touchpad and touchbar are not working properly, plus I have some other minor issues.

If I reboot into Mac Os again and launch Windows via PD I get a message saying that there's a problem with my Microsoft account: "We need to fix your Microsoft account your password has probably been changed. Select here to fix it in the Shared experiences settings". So I click the button to fix the issue, log in with my Microsoft account again and everything is fine.

At least on the virtual machine. If I want the Bootcamp Assistant to work properly again, I have to reinstall Windows Support Software from Apple. When I do this, boocamp.exe runs normally, my touchbar/touchpad and everything else work smoothly. If I run Windows via PD though, I have the same problem as before. So I have to go through the previous process once again.

Windows license problem in bootcamp and Parallels Desktop

I am a MacBook Pro user and using Bootcamp and Virtual Machines Parallels Desktop 14 in the same time. The license suppose to be able to use in both engine cause it is the same computer.

However, I activated the Windows license in the Parallels Desktop first.

Now, the Windows in Bootcamp is telling me that the product key was already used on another device.

Please help me. I do not want to purchase again the license using in the same computer.

 

Dual Bootcamp and Parallels Installation?

Can the same retail version of Windows 10 be installed and activated in both Bootcamp and Parallels on the same iMac?

 

Parallels 11 to Bootcamp Win 10 activation

Installed a licensed copy of Win 7 pro 64 bit under Parallels 11 at my new MacBook. Upgrade to Win 10 64 bit Pro with no problem with activation. Found out that 1 of my USB Token is not function properly and decided to switch to Bootcamp as both tech at
Microsoft and Parallels unable to resolve the issue.

Created a bootable Win 10 USB and proceed with Bootcamp installation (Unable to use Win 7 as the latest MacBook Bootcamp require Win 8 and above). Installed Win 10 without entering product key and after installation it did detect my product key for Win 10
from previous installation under Parallels 11. My USB Token now function correctly. However, under Bootcamp my Win 10 is not activated even though it detected my product key.



Called Microsoft and they suggest me to get a new copy of Win 10. That is not helpful at all. Unable to install Win 7 under Bootcamp to re-upgrade again. Is there any other way to resolve this?
