WIN10 WMP not resetting power state flags after streaming

I'm on win10 1903 and it appears I have the exact same problem that is detailed with win7 WMP where at the end of streaming the power state flags are not reset.

To explain, the PC sleeps perfectly after a reboot. Consistently for days on end. If I actually stream from WMP and then the stream ends the PC will never goto sleep. I have to manually reboot the PC to get sleep to work again.

This same problem was described here on win7.

Has anyone got a way of fixing this in win10?

    :)

  2. WMP and streaming to Roku

I have a new W10 computer and would like to use WMP to stream content (home videos, photos, music) from an attached external drive to my Roku Express model 3900X. This uses the Roku Media Player channel. The Roku is attached to a television sound system.

In WMP Customize Navigation Pane I've selected just Folders for videos, music and photos. This allows the existing folder structure on the external drive to also appear through the Roku Media Player. WMP streaming is set to Automatically Allow Devices
    to Play My Media.

The music and home video files stream to the Roku and play without issue. With a few exceptions, when the Roku accesses a photos folder it states that no compatible media could be found. Is this likely to be an an issue with the Roku, WMP, external drive
    or something else?

The contents of the photo files are visible without issue when viewed with the Photos app on W10.

    thank you

Cannot Set Flag to Completed State in Emails

On older devices such as Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 Phones, do have the option. I am using a Windows 10 phone. There is no option to complete under the ellipse (three dots)

Under the ellipse I have the following Options:

    • Mark as unread
    • Set flag
    • Move
    • Archive

Clicking on Set flag toggles the state between flagged and no flag. There is a third state supported by Microsoft Exchange and it is completed. This option has been available on all prior Windows Phone OS releases but does not seem to be a current feature
of the OS version OS Build 10.0.10586.29 as I listed above.

I am writing this post in hopes that a Microsoft Representative will take the feedback and pass it on to the developers to get this feature reinstated.

    WMP Problem

It should be there. Let's try again, step by step.

First, find out what version of Windows you have. Use the Winkey + R to bring up the 'Run' box, type Winver then click OK. You should see a version number, 1511, 1607 or 1703.

If you have 1703, open Settings > Apps. For any other version open Settings > System.

Click on Default in the list to the left (in 1703 it's called Default apps).

Scroll down the list to find 'Video player'. This will probably say the default is 'Films & TV'. Whatever it says, click on it to bring up a list of possible apps to set as the default. You should see something like this with Windows Media Player in the 'Choose an application' list. Click on Windows Media Player and it will become the default for all types of video.
