Windows 10: Help choosing laptop

Hello, I am currently looking for a new laptop ($1000 or less) and found 2 computers one that I will be referring to as MSI (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/m...ptop/8mv2z3w4774l?activetab=pivot:overviewtab) and the other one that I will be referring to as ASUS (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/a...ng-pc/8vs3pnbc26fc?activetab=pivot:reviewstab). I know nothing of AMD so I’m not quite sure how good the processor and video card of the MSI computer are since they are both made by AMD. I would appreciate any help choosing the better laptop (I’m planning on using them for gaming and school).

Don't really know how to help you. You are being vague. Here is what I would do. Choosing a case is aesthetics first. Shop NewEgg and list the cases you like and list them. Members will suggest the best choice from your selections.

PassMark CPU Benchmarks - New Laptop CPUs Performance

See if you can find something with an Intel i3 processor in your price range.

The i3 Passmark scores seem to begin around 3000 and go up from there.

They are a step up from the dreaded Celerons.
