Windows 10: Flashing black lines on screen after Windows 10 installation

Hi Folks,


I have finally installed Win 10 on to an Acer Aspire 7750G laptop, after the installation it is getting black flashes quite randomly horizontally across the screen.

I followed the windows troubleshooting, updated all the Apps and found that the flashing was evident across the task manager screen as well as other screens, MS suggested that this was likely due to the display driver, the Display adaptor is AMD Radeon 6600M and 6700M series and the driver is to the latest level.


I am now struggling as to how I can stop this, has anyone any further suggestions.

A black screen can occur in a number of scenarios on Windows 10, it's possibly caused by the graphics driver, a connection problem between with your computer's display, during an update or installation, etc.

• Confirm which build is currently installed on your device. To check, follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + R, then type in winver.
• Click OK.

• Were there any recent changes made prior to this issue?

Windows 10 install problem with a black screen and hangs

Original title: WIndows 10 install problem

Left Windows 10 update to install overnight last night.

In the morning it appears to be hanging on black screen with Windows 10 logo and circling dots (dots are frozen and not moving).

Hard drive activity light is solid green and not flashing on and off.

Suggestion and/or next steps would be appreciated. Thanks

The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.
