  1. Maddening wireless problem

I have this very odd wireless issue which I am scratching my head about.

I have just set up three brand new (Windows 10) laptops in a big room, 40 ft by 20 ft approximately. All the laptops are identical, high end models. The router (a BT hub) provides high speed fibre broadband and is in the middle of the room near the wall.

Two of the laptops work perfectly wirelessly, the other won't. It drops the connection, or takes ages to load web pages. BUT, it is perfect on ethernet, and, even more mysteriously, is fine on wireless when I take it out of that environment and hook up to a different network. Interestingly this misbehaving one was set up and is situated very close to the router/hub, but switching the laptops around to different parts of the room seems to make little difference.

This odd wireless behaviour appeared very soon after setup, on different browsers, before I installed antivirus on it too. I even set up Windows 10 again from scratch on it but to no avail.

I cannot make any sense out of this at all!

    :)

Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.
