Windows 10: When using the "Your phone" app mic issue

When connected to my phone, I am unable to use my computer microphone when calling someone. I get sound from the phone and my microphone is set as default and is the only microphone connected. I have used the microphone with other devices and it works. Any ideas?

Lumia 1520 Phone Mic issues

Maybe it's in my head but these issues seem like they can be software related or at the very least, it's a combination of software & hardware issues.

Here's why:

• When making regular phone calls, the mic is intermittent
  
• When the mic issue is occurring with regular phone calls, the mic works after switching to speakerphone but not vice versa
  • this behaves consistently. In fact, this is the only way I've been making phone calls.
  • to me, this means the hardware is working correctly
  • if the mic hardware was broken, then it wouldn't work in any mode consistently
    
• 'Hey Cortana' works intermittently just like it does during phone calls.
  • I suspect this issue is the same issue as with making phone calls
• Covering the light sensor makes the capacitive buttons (windows & back buttons) flicker or glow brighter

Nobody else is having this issue???

I wish somebody from MS would chime in on this.

 

Windows Phone Camera App: Recording Video with headset microphone instead of internal mic

The phone only uses the built-in mic when recording videos on the Camera app. If you want to use an external mic when recording videos, it is best that you send this suggestion through Feedback Hub so our developers can work on it. To send a feedback on
your phone, you can follow the steps below:

1. Go to All apps, search for the Feedback
   Hub app.
2. Open the Menu icon at the top left side.
3. Select Feedback, then tap the Add button
   (+) at the top right side.
4. Select Suggestion and provide the details needed in the box.
   
5. Select the right category and then submit.
