Windows 10: Lost Document

I went to save my document, clicked Save As, then clicked Browse so I could insert it into a certain file, but as soon as I clicked it, Word closed and then rebooted to the screen where you choose the document template. The first time it did this I figured it was a fluke, I was still upset but I assumed it was a one time thing. But this most recent time, I decided to copy the things I wrote and then attempted to save the document. It did it again, I was frustrated but I figured it was fine because I copied what I wrote, I could just paste it somewhere else. Well it wont let me paste it anywhere, like it was completely lost when the app closed. I've researched how to recover lost documents, its no where to be found. Word didn't autosave it either, so even when closing the app completely and restarting it, its not there at all. So now I have to rewrite what I lost. Y'all better figure out how to fix this, I'm afraid to do write anything with Microsoft anymore. I'm about to start college soon, I'm gonna have to find a different platform to write everything since I can't rely on Word documents.

Here are two suggestions:

• Have a look in the folder C:\Windows.old\Users\MjKoval\Documents.

Implement a robust backup scheme. If you have very important documents then they must be stored on two independent media.
Do not wait until they are lost.

Change the settings in folder options to show the quick access menu. I assume this is what you mean?

• Open the File Explorer.
• Tap on View and click on Options.
• Change the option Open File Explorer to: from "This PC" to "Quick Access"
