Windows 10: Microsoft Lifecam Studio - No desktop software in Windows 10, unable to adjust properties

I'm using the Lifecam Studio with Windows 10. It works great, but in certain lighting videos at night I need to stop the auto brightness adjustment. I add more lights in the room and it just brings the brightness back down. Other threads on this topic say to adjust it in the desktop software - in Windows 10 there is no desktop software as far as I can tell.

I can use separate software like Open Broadcaster Software to adjust my LifeCam Studio properties, but I never had to do that before--and it's not the normal interface for adjusting it because it isn't the actual Dashboard, but it works.

So how do I access the LifeCam Studio Dashboard?

There may not be, or need be, any software to install at all?

With your LifeCam connected what happens when you click on "Camera" in the "All Apps" list? If it is there, and if it opens (big ifs) are there three dots showing that are clickable and take you to "Settings"?

 

Lifecam studio webcam can't run on Windows

Hi Ashton, thank you for trying to help solve my LifeCam Studio problem.

Yes I have attempted to install software from https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/449688...
this is where I receive the message LifeCam can't run on Windows...check for an updated version of this app that runs on Windows.

I also followed PW and CH suggestions, unfortunately I'm still unable to have control over the camera functions like zoom, pan and tilt, using skype and the edge camera there is no way to adjust the camera settings

Device manager shows Microsoft LifeCam Studio driver version 5.20.102.0 Date 07/01/2016

Device manager on the events Tab device install requested, information is Device USB\VID_045E&PID_0772&MI_00\6&2475ca9a&0&0000 requires further installation.

I should mention lifeCam Studio isn't listed in programs and features in control panel, also I did a restart then connected the USB cable again.

Any further suggestions would be appreciated
