    Version 1909 OS Build 18363.657


    I have been using the "Backup and Restore Windows 7" facility for years with success. In the Control Panel.

    This has saved me many times over the years after shooting myself in the foot by allowing me to restore my laptop to exactly the same state it was in, when the backup image was created.

    A very good thing.


    I now want to swap out my regular hard drive for a new SSD.


    I would like to continue to use the "Backup and Restore Windows 7" facility if I can, for creating and restoring future system images once the SSD has been installed rather than looking for some other software to do the job.


    Has anyone actually created and then restored an image to an SSD via the "Backup and Restore Windows 7" facility ?

    Why doesn't Microsoft remove Backup and Restore (windows 7) in Control Panel as Windows 7 will be expired soon on January 2020?

    As windows 10 is reliable and secure OS on the Planet. But, Why Microsoft not remove Backup and Restore (Windows 7) Feature in Control Panel? Soon, Win 7 will be expired on January 2020.

    Therefore, I suggest Microsoft to remove and delete Backup and Restore (Windows 7) Feature in Control Panel. I hope Microsoft will do it by removing this backup and restore (Windows 7) in next version of Windows 10 Version 1909 (19H2).

    Please remove this annoying and unpleasant feature out of Control Panel as Windows 10 is reliable with more Users in the globe continue to use Win 10.

    A file called "Backup and Restore Windows 7" is listed in my Control Panel. Is it safe to delete this file? If so, how can I safely delete it?

    Control Panel - Backup and Restore

    My computer that came with Windows 10 Preinstalled has the wrong version at Backup and Restore in the Control Panel.

    Currently it shows Backup and Restore Windows 7. This computer never had Windows 7. Do I need to change that heading to Back and Restore Windows 10?
