    BSOD "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" caused by L1C63x64.sys Windows 10

I am getting BSOD at iregular intervals with the same error code "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" caused by L1C63x64.sys, which is a driver for

"Qualcomm Atheros AR8171/8175 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller NDIS 6.30".

this seems to be a recurring theme with this driver but i havent been able to find my hardware ids in the other threads.

    hardware ids

    PCI\VEN_1969&DEV_10A1&SUBSYS_10A11849&REV_10

    PCI\VEN_1969&DEV_10A1&SUBSYS_10A11849

    PCI\VEN_1969&DEV_10A1&CC_020000

    PCI\VEN_1969&DEV_10A1&CC_0200

Current driver version in my desktop is 2.1.0.21 and was published 7.16.2013. ive tried to do an automatic update to the driver, run windows update, tried to find a newer driver on the motherboards website, and other online sources, but havent been able to find something specific to this can confirm from motherboard manual that part is the ar8171

thanks in advance for any help

    :)

  2. BSOD - driver_irql_not_less_or_equal (l1c63x64.sys)

    Hi Seung,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused by BSOD - driver_irql_not_less_or_equal (l1c63x64.sys).

Please let us know the make/model of your computer.

The L1C63x64.sys is the Atheros LAN driver and I would suggest to uninstall and reinstall the Atheros LAN driver but install the latest Atheros LAN driver by visiting the manufacture's website and avoid using any LAN driver available though Windows Update.

However the problem could also be with any VPN software and other software so make sure you have the latest version of each of these software.

If the errors continue uninstall the VPN software and check if the issue persist.

Hope this helps. Get back to us for further queries for BSOD - driver_irql_not_less_or_equal (l1c63x64.sys). We are happy to help!

    BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (L1C63x64.sys) on Windows 10

I am getting BSOD for two consecutive days with the same error code "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" caused by L1C63x64.sys, which is a driver for

"Qualcomm Atheros AR8171/8175 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.30)".

Current driver version in my laptop is 2.1.0.21. I tried to find a newer driver in ASUS website ([1], [2]) and other online sources, I can only find the same version of driver (2.1.0.21) for "Windows 8.1"! I can't find one made for Windows 10.

Any other way to mitigate this? I can only use Ethernet in certain places (in other places I just use Wifi), so disabling driver is not really an option.

    Thanks in advance.

Device model: ASUS X450LCP laptop (3-4 years old).

  4. BSOD "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" caused by L1C63x64.sys Windows 10

    BSOD DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL L1C63x64.sys

    Hi,

The driver that appears to cause the crash is the L1C63x64.sys which is the driver for the Atheros network adapter.

The L1C63x64.sys appears to be at version 2.1.0.16 from 2013.

There should be an updated driver available from Windows Update.

    Can you do the following:

Open the Device Manager and right-click the Qualcomm Atheros network adapter > Properties > Details, then choose "Hardware Ids" from the drop-down menu under "Property".

    What is listed under "Value"?
