Windows 10: Need Help: Software can't remember

Hello.

I recently bought a laptop and went from Windows 8 to Windows 10.

I installed some software like VLC, XnView MP.

The problem is that they can't seem to remember choices I made.

For example, VLC keep asking if I want to connect it to network for searching metadata.

XnView MP keep asking if I really want to close the image, even though I checked the "remember this choice' box.

Same for IDM, where it keeps showing tips even though I checked the box.

It happens everytime the app is launched.



Does anyone have any idea why it does that?

Software and OS are installed in my SDD and data are on HDD.
