Windows 10: Xbox one controller freezing during gameplay

I just bought a new xbox one s controller and it works most of the time but every once in a while with no discernable pattern it will disconnect or freeze up and stop accepting input and lock the last input as current input

I've tried a number of thing including updateing the controller and setting usb ports to not power save, even used a wire but it still doesn't stop disconnecting.

Is there any fix for this or is it just a wait for an update to the controller thing?

I am using the most recent version of windows 10 as well just updated everything

Can’t connect Xbox one controller to pc
