Windows 10: Forgotten windows local account password

I am trying to restore windows to a previous version from the recovery startup menu and for that purpose I need to enter my password for the local account. I don't remember the password. I didn't even know I had a password since I turned off the asking for password thing. I do remember my PIN but without password I can't do anything. Is there a way to bypass this without having to wipe my computer clean? I have lots and lots of very important data that I need and can't back it up either on another drive.

Local Account password changed to Online Account Password

Hi,

I suggest you to follow the steps on how to switch from Microsoft account to Local account:

• Click on search in taskbar and type account.
• Click on Accounts.
• Now, under Your account, click on Sign in with Local account instead.
• Enter your Microsoft account password for confirmation and then follow the screen instruction.
• Enter User name credentials for your the Local account and click OK.
• Now, login to Local account.
