Windows 10: cannot log into windows during large io

This happens far too frequently. I'm using the latest Windows 10. I can't currently give you System information because I can't login.


The issue:


I frequently have to process very large files while doing data science work. If I let my windows session lock, it is not uncommon but I'm no longer able to log back in. The screen just stays black with the mouse cursor visible. I can move the mouse, and nothing else. I see that the file IO still is continuing, if I let it finish in 90 hours I will be able to log back in. Until then nothing works.


Note, that if this does not happen, even under very high IO I am able to log in and do work. I'm not able to reliably reproduce this. however, it seems to be far more likely to happen many hours into a many day process.


also note that remote desktop programs like TeamViewer believe the system is up and running, I can ping the system, but I'm unable to connect to any remote desktop services.


Nothing works to get me to the login screen. Control-alt-delete does nothing. I have been patiently waiting for 32 minutes to try and login. I am preventing the system from going to sleep by moving the mouse and clicking sporadically. If I reset the computer so that I can log in, I will lose 40 hours worth of work. This happens all the time. my option is to not have a working computer until I hear that it is no longer doing IO. How do I or you fix this?

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Files & Folders View as medium or large Icons

To assist you better, we would suggest that you try to follow the steps below:

• Open File Explorer.
• Once you are viewing a folder, right click an empty space within the File Explorer window and select View from the dialogue menu, then choose Large or any icon you wanted to use. Alternatively, you can use the following shortcut keys on the keyboard to
  change your View settings:

• CTRL + SHIFT + 1 Extra Large
• CTRL + SHIFT + 2 Large icons
• CTRL + SHIFT + 3 Medium Icons
• CTRL + SHIFT + 4 Small Icons
• CTRL + SHIFT + 5 List
• CTRL + SHIFT + 6 Details
• CTRL + SHIFT + 7 Tiles
• CTRL + SHIFT + 8 Content

3. Once you have the view set, you can make it the default view for

every folder.

4. Click Apply, then click OK.
