  1. Bad gaming performance suddenly "over night"

    Hey reddit!

I'm currently facing a problem since a couple of months which I just can't seem to fix.I have a computer with relatively "old" hardware with the following specs:

CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1095T

    GPU: AMD Radeon R9 280X

    RAM: 8GB DDR2

    Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

    SATA SSD 500GB

Even with this hardware, I was able to play Grand Theft Auto V on High settings with arround 50 to 60 fps on average. But then, a few months ago, suddenly "over night" my gaming performance seemed to have been degraded to more than half the fps.In GTA V, I suddenly only have 20 to 30 fps, depending on where I "look" in game: When I look to the floor or to the sky, my fps jump back to 60fps, but as soon as I look into the city for example, the frames per seconds drop to 20 - 30 fps on average, which is very strange.

This exact phenomenon also occurs in every other game I try: Looking straight up/ down results in 60+ fps and looking into the city/ middle of the map drops my fps down to more than half.

Out of curiosity I installed Windows 7 Pro 64-bit a few days ago to see if it makes any difference or if maybe it's just faulty hardware, but in Windows 7 my games suddenly run just fine like back a few months ago with 50 to 60fps in GTA V (same graphics card driver version, graphics settings, resolution, etc.).

These are some steps I already took (without any luck):

    - Disabled Game DVR

    - Disabled Hyper-V

    - Reinstalled Windows 10 Pro

    - Disabled unnecessary startup-processes

I currently have a Windows 7-partition just for gaming, and also with the end of it's life-cycle, I really don't want to switch between Windows 7 and Windows 10 all the time.

I would be incredibly thankful for any help or clues, thank you so much in advance!

I hope you have a nice weekend,- DigitalClark Bad gaming performance suddenly "over night" :)

  2. Games folder suddenly empty Windows 10

Using Windows 10. This morning the games folder was suddenly empty. I found instructions that were for Windows 7 on how to turn on games, and tried to use the same method, but when I went to "turn windows features on and off" in the Windows 10 control
panel, 'games' isn't on the list. Any suggestions?

    game dvr vs night light

    Hey all,

    Here's the issue

    - I always played the witcher 3 in fullscreen with night light enabled and working.- yesterday, I tried with activating game DVR - tho' w/o success as I had the HDD where it saves locked - and suddenly night light stopped working and i experienced tearing.-
I disabled game DVR, restarted, installed new drivers.. The game is no more night light compatible. Same happened to another game.

To use night light I have to borderless fullscreen but in games like the witcher I prefer full performance.

How can I restore everything back?

    Thanks
