    My microphone level setting keep resetting itself to 100 (How Do I Fix This?)


    So I have been experiencing this problem for awhile now and it gets really annoying. My level settings on my main microphone keep getting changed to random numbers (only recently has it been resetting to 100). I usually keep it at 79 so I don't ear rape people I am in a call with so it is really annoying having to change this setting every couple of hours. I have turned off allow applications to take exclusive control of this device so it would stop changing to values like 39 or 25. But now it resets a lot to level 100. I have done full scans with malwarebytes and windows defender and its not detecting any malware or stuff like that, so I am not sure what is causing this problem. I have scanned for drivers on the mic and nothing came up. I also scanned for windows updates and I found some and they didn't fix anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    This issue could have occurred due to incorrect microphone settings or corrupt
    microphone drivers.

    I suggest you to try the steps suggested by Wasim A on August 18, 2015
    and check if it helps.

    Microphone properties level is fixed on mute and I cannot change it

    I am running Windows 10 Pro and my Microphone properties level is fixed on mute and I cannot change. The slider is at zero and it indicates that the microphone is muted. I change the sider to 100% and unclick the icon to unmute the settings. In less than
    10 seconds all the settings reset back to zero and mute. I have tried every fixed that I could find on the internet. I have uninstalled the driver and reinstalled. Troubleshooting do not find any issues. The Webcam mic and the headset both show on the recording
    tab. The Webcam is a Logitech c920 HD Pro and the headset is a Logitech H111.

    Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to get this issue resolved?

    On going problem, I have an external microphone that plugs into the back of my tower. I can not get the microphone Level to stay at 100%. I can set it, but then it goes back to 0 with in seconds.
