  1. I keep losing wifi connection when my computer sleeps, Even though I have keep device...

I have my wifi adapter to keep active, as in, the box in Power Management for putting the wifi adapter to sleep us unchecked. This should keep the wifi going even if my computer sleeps, should it not? I walk away for a minute and then I come back to unlock my User desktop, the wifi logo is a world with a little circle and line through it. After a second wifi connection comes back, but I would prefer it to stay on all the time. Sometimes I lose connection while I leave a video buffering, or while trying to download files. Any help would be much appreciated!

WiFi connection always lost upon return from sleep

This concerns a desktop computer in our home, Windows 10 Pro, v1903, build xxxxx.476

We have lots of devices constantly or often on our home wifi - Windows 7 and 10 computers, Apple products, "smart" thermostat, and iphone and Android devices.

    Generally no issues.

But one desktop computer in our home, when waking from sleep, either doesn't immediately connect to wifi, or takes unacceptably long to do so. I can "force" the connection by manually connecting, but the person using that computer doesn't know how to and would have great difficulty learning.

I have tried the suggestion in lose wifi when back from sleep mode (in fact, the "allow computer to turn off wireless adapter" was already unchecked - problem persists whether this box is unchecked or checked).

On Microsoft's sites, it's easy to find copy/pasted "cookbook" solutions that involve a pretty tiresome set of diagnostic steps, and I realize that a systematic runthrough of often-obvious ideas is often the best approach.

Still, other than the network adapter power management tab referenced above, I'm looking for some other "good bang for the buck," high-probability-of-success solutions.

One, I know, would be to restart the computer at the end of the day, versus letting it go to sleep overnight. But I'm still curious why the wifi works after a restart, but not after a wakeup.

Randomly losing internet connection on a wifi network

Is that ipv4 pool for DHCP? I usually set fixed IP addresses outside dynamic pool (so above .64 in your case)

Other solutions: like Superfly suggested, new wifi adapter (USB solutions in your case), and found one old HP thread... uninstalling HP hotkeys worked for someone - looks like app was messing with physical key...)

Randomly losing internet connection on a wifi network

The router is a Sagemcom B-Box 3 running the ISP's software. It does not have user-accessible logs but I can see what devices are currently connected. When the computer loses internet access, it still shows in the list of connected devices, as I would expect.

The available IPv4 pool is 192.168.1.2-63 and I statically assigned 192.168.1.63 for that last test.

The computer is an HP Elitebook 8460P with a Broadcom BCM43XX wifi adapter. The driver is the latest version.
