Windows 10: Windows update tells me my version is 2018 and close to outdated yet winver indicates 1809....

Windows 10 V 1809 build 17763.1131 Windows update shows Up to date with this note: You’re currently running a version of Windows that’s nearing the end of service. We recommend you update to the most recent version of Windows 10 to get the latest features and security improvements. MS says the 1903/09 update is not in my future due to a compatibility hold. How is that hold reset, troubleshot, corrected?

Windows 10 October 2018 Creators Update Winver 1809

This is amazing. I purchased a Windoiws 10 Pro Installation DVD and fresh installed it on my Laptop. It installed the Winver 1809 which is the version of Windows 10 with October 2018 Creators Update.
Next day Windows Update downgraded it to version 1803.

Now when I try to install the October 2018 update on the Laptop, it doesn't get installed though I understand that it has been again released by Microsoft. On my Desktop I had updated to Winver 1809 on the
day it was originally released and it is working like a charm.

Isn't this amazing? Can someone please help me to install Winver 1809 on my Laptop? I am not an Insider.

• In File Explorer, a red "X" appears on the mapped network drives.
• Mapped network drives show as "Unavailable" when you run the net usecommand from a command prompt.
• In the notification area, a notification displays, "Could not reconnect all network drives."

Workaround: See KB4471218 for workaround scripts to automatically reconnect a mapped network drive when you log on to the device. Next Steps: Microsoft is working on a resolution and estimates a solution will be available by early December 2018.[/td] [/tr] [/table]
