Can this be accomplished..?? I ask because I have one I just bought, but I'm stumped at the EULA, which returns "OOBEREGION" for my selected Region of US, also "OOBEKEYBOARD" for my Keyboard selection and finally "OOBEEULA" for the final EULA acceptance, which as these selections are incorrect the EULA fails, stating Something went wrong - You can try again, which is possible, but nothing can be changed in the process and the same noted selections are noted as errors with no other selections possible. Nothing will effect a change in what's output. Consequently progress is not possible to continue with the installation of Windows. I also don't have any media or any documentation of the product key. Would that information be already associated with the motherboard of this PC somehow, as this PC has not completed installation in this configuration. I'm not sure all the files necessary for said completion are present, the files on the machine are present within one SSD HD, with two other partitions, one drive designated "C:" and labeled "System Reserved", Windows System files are installed onto drive "D:" with no label, then the only other drive is "X:" with a volume label as "Boot". No other drives are present. So, from what I've encountered so far it looks like what I've explained is my course of action. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    :)

  2. Clean Install Workaround for Vista

You may remember this news story on techPowerUp! a couple of days ago relating to the lack of clean installs when using the Upgrade Editions of Vista, which required an old OS to be installed. However, Paul Thurrott has managed to find a workaround for this issue, which ironically lets users do a clean install Vista without any previous version of Windows, albeit a little tedious. Here are the steps:
    • Boot from the Windows Vista Upgrade DVD as normal
    • When prompted for a product code, leave this blank
    • Select the version of Vista you have purchased and let Vista install
    • When you boot to your desktop for the first time, run the Vista setup from Windows
    • This time enter your product key
    • When asked whether you want to do an Upgrade of Custom install, select custom and choose a clean install
    • Windows will now install for a second time and you should be able to activate it
Remember, these steps are only advised for use in order to achieve a clean install of Vista, it is only legal to use the upgrade editions if you have previously purchased the appropriate version of Windows.

    Clean install of Windows 10

We got a refurbished HP Compaq Elite 8300 to replace an old pc at our office. I started it up, ran updates, everything was working great. I was goog to install quickbooks and all our other necessary software after the weekend, but when I came in Monday,
my boss said he had hooked up the extrenal hard drive from the old pc. Long story short, Windows wouldn't boot. I tried to do a repair from a usb drive, didn't work. Tried again and it didn't work. I reformatted the hard drive and deleted the partitions because
I read some guides saying a clean install like that might work. It didnt. Then the Flash drive went bad, (just a cheap one laying around) so I put the boot on a CD, and now it won't even go into the UEFI.

Any suggestions? I'll have another flash drive tomorrow.

    Windows Vista Clean Installation

To do a clean install on a fresh hard drive with Vista on an upgrade disc, you have to follow certain steps. Buying a full install CD would've been easier, but using the upgrade disc only adds more time, so it's not that big of a deal.

Follow the instructions here to do a clean install with an upgrade disc: http://www.vistarewired.com/2007/02/28/perform-a-clean-install-with-a-vista-upgrade-disc
