Windows 10: MySQL timezone is set to GMT. When I check where it gets it's value, it writes SYSTEM, but...

I am having difficulties connecting my server to a local DB I have on my machine. It's a timezone related issue, and if I configure the connection to be UTC it works (which means MySQL uses GMT).

After typing SELECT @@global.time_zone, @@session.time_zone on the MySQL server, both return SYSTEM. So I figure I should just change my machines time zone format to UTC from GMT. But it already IS UTC +2, Jerusalem Time.

Could Windows be pulling my leg over this one? It sounds like a MySQL issue, but I have had my fair share of win 10 date and time problems. I also never managed to make the "synchronize time" feature work.

Disclaimer: this may seem more engineering related than windows related, yet I didn't have this problem on my linux laptop, so I want to rule out the windows factor before opening a more engineering oriented question on another forum.

How to completely uninstall MySQL?

Hi,

Which version of Windows is installed on your device?

Refer the article ‘Which Windows operating system am I running’
to provide the details.

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to uninstall MySQL from the device.

Step 1

Uninstall MySQL from Control Panel. To do so,

Go to Control Panel >Programs and Features > Select
MySQL > Click on Uninstall.

After you have uninstalled MySQL through Add/Remove programs, you now need to remove the existing database information which includes your actual data. If you need any of that data, be sure to back it up. Next you can delete
the data directory.

Step 2

Run Command Prompt as Administrator and execute the following command to stop and remove MySQL service.

Net stop MySQL

Sc delete MySQL

Step 3

1. Click on Start, type in Show hidden files and folders.
   
2. Select the View tab and select
   Show hidden files and folders.
   
3. Now explore the following locations and delete following folders.
   
   C:\Program Files\MySQL
   
   C:\Program Files (x86)\MySQL
   
   C:\ProgramData\MySQL
   
   And if exists, delete the folder from the location.
   
   C:\Users\[User-Name]\AppData\Roaming\MySQL
   
4. Restart your device and check the status.

Set a timezone other than the system timezone for specific applications

Is it possible in Windows 10 to set an application to run using a timezone different than the system's timezone?

For example, the system timezone is GMT-5:00 (EST) but I want an application to run in GMT+9:00 (JPN) without having to switch the system timezone to GMT+9:00 before launching the app.

Could you check if the "Auto-update of time" is disabled by following these steps:

• Go to Settings.
• Select Date and time.
• Scroll down to Auto-update of time then select Off.

Also, I've checked my Asha 302 and verified that there's no GMT +1 Amsterdam on the timezone list. What you can do is to set it to the nearest place from Amsterdam. It could be +1 Paris or +1 Berlin.
