  1. Program keeps trying to install


    I use this program Bruteforce save data its a program to edit ps3 save files I've been using it for years no problem, I go to use it today and run the shortcut it attempts to install the program I assumed it got uninstalled cuz I haven't used it in a month or so I quit the installer go to where the setup is on my pc and reinstall it no problem at the end of the install it has a checkbox to run the program after install I check it and again it attempts to install program

    this time I look at it and realize it's trying to install a program called resume maker pro an old program I had a long time ago I check it is still installed so I fully uninstall it when I run brute-force it still tries to install it I even installed the program to different location same thing each time then installed the program to a USB drive and opened it it did the same thing but took the same USB and put it into another laptop and it ran normally didn't attempt to install anything so next I booted into safe mode and ran adware cleaner to see if its malware but it didn't detect anything please help with this

    • Which program are you trying to uninstall?

    • What is the exact issue with Office XP Student?
    The issue you are facing could be due to the program is running on desktop background. Let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and heck if it help in resolving the issue. Follow the below steps:

    Step 1.

    I suggest you to go to the task manager and check if the program is running on Windows back ground. Follow the below steps:

    • Press CTRL+Shift+ESC to open Task manager.
    • Locate for the program which you are trying to uninstall.
    • Right click on it and click on End task.
    • Try uninstalling the program.
    If the issue still persist try the below steps.

    Step 2.

    I would recommend you to restart the computer and as soon as the computer boot up try uninstalling the programs.

    If the above steps did not fix the issue try the below steps provided.

    Step 3.

    I suggest you to unregister and register the Windows installer and check if it helps. Follow the below steps:


    • Click Start, click Run, type
      MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER, and then click OK. Even if you do this correctly, it may look like nothing occurs.

    • Click Start, click Run, type
      MSIEXEC /REGSERVER, and then click OK. Even if you do this correctly, it may look like nothing occurs, or you may briefly see an hourglass. After you run this command, the operation is complete.

    Let’s try simple steps and check if this helps in resolving the issue. Follow the below steps.

    Step 1.

    I suggest you to go to the task manager and check what programs are running on Windows background.


    • Press Windows key + X and select
      Task Manager.

    • Now check for the program on the list and you can end the task by right clicking on the program and click on
      End task.
    If the issue still persist, try the below steps:

    Step 2.

    I recommend you to unregister and re-register the Windows Installer and check.


    • Click Start, click Run, type
      MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER, and then click OK. Even if you do this correctly, it may look like nothing occurs.

    • Are the programs already installed on your computer?
    • What other troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
    If you're still trying to install the programs, we suggest changing the compatibility mode of the installers before installing the programs. Follow the steps below:

    • Right-click AOL Desktop installer or Facebook Gameroom.
    • Select Properties.
    • Go to Compatibility tab.
    • Check the box for Run this program in compatibility mode for.
    • Click the drop-down option and select any Windows previous version.
    • Check Run this program as an administrator.
    • Click Apply, then OK.
    • Try to install the program using the installer.
