    Network and Windows 10

About a week ago, I woke up, turned on my PC and the network transfer rates between it and my Synology 918 server via a Tplink Archer 2300 had drop to 11Mbps from 112Mbps.

Neither the server nor modem had changed, they are on 24/7 and no logs show an issue. They are on an APC UPS, as is the PC but a seperate one.

I've spent a lot of the last week with Synology support and Tplink forum but nothing has been found to be wrong and therefore the finger is pointing at Windows. I've checked everything they suggested may be the cause in Windows to no avail, MTU etc.

Can anyone suggest a test or suggest what could have changed I've tried all the Troubleshooters?

Windows 10 recieved the latest update, I use Kaspersky security turning it off makes no difference.

    Many thanks,

    John

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
