  1. How to permanently set position of some application window on desktop

    Hello Experts,

I have a few important applications installed on my PC. I frequently need to open and close those applications. However, let's say, when I launched application A, and in order to login into that application, I parallelly need to open another application B to obtain some required information for login into application A. But application A and B both open on each other and I have to press right key and move one of them to another place or corner on the desktop.

Can you suggest if there is any way to permanently set position of any one of them on the desktop, so I need not to manually move any application to some other corner on the desktop? Request: I don't want to edit registry of my PC.

    OS: Windows 10 Enterprise version

    Thanks in advance.

    :)

  2. Folder View Settings and Desktop Icon Positions Not Saving

if you could, please attach the output directly in a post on this thread.

Thanks for taking this up with ESET, I read your thread over there and it looks as though they need an image from a systme witht eh symptoms since they could not reproduce the problem.

I took a quick look though this thread and was going to suggest resetting the folders, but Mr. Brink already suggested it here:

There's been some discussion about malware (real or false postives).
Some malware and the remediation of it requires system files to be repaired. Follow these two tutorials to check and repair system file corruption.

Please post if any files were repaired - I might want to see the CBS log if anything needed fixing

Folder View Settings and Desktop Icon Positions Not Saving

Hi irvan, so to summarise, although you've implemented the fix described here successfully (i.e. registry keys changed as expected) you only have the symptom of the desktop icons moving, not explorer folder view settings changing.

If so, the cause could be different.

If so, there are some fixes you could consider, and after that, use freeware to secure your icon positions, or Stardock's Fences.
