Windows 10: Change Windows 10 hot key functionality with something other than AHK?

I just want to swap Alt-Tab functionality for Control-Tab functionality.

Note: I am not talking about swapping button locations. I already did that with SharpKeys.

I don't want to use AutoHotkey since [AutoHotKay malware is now a thing](https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/autohotkey-malware-is-now-a-thing/), apparently, and not just an overly paranoid Chrome warning.

AutoIt looks too complicated.

PowerPro installer asks me if I want to create a 'Main' folder and a 'Configuration' folder. Since I've installed about 20 programs in this machine so far and none have asked me that, I don't really want to install something that's going to do something weird. It looks like maybe it's just being stupid (or extra polite) and asking me if I want to create the necessary folders for the app while other installers just do it without asking, but I can't be sure. Why would it bother to ask me if it needs to do it, anyway? It's really not an option if that's the case.

Can anyone confirm PowerPro's installer just wants to make the folders it needs and it's nothing that's going to cause me headaches later? Also, if anyone uses PowerpPro and has any idea who to swap the Alt-Tab and Control-Tab hotkey functionality, I'd love to hear/see how. The instructions on the website are very limited and I don't want to create a Yahoo idea to search through its 20 year old Yahoo Group.

Would be smart if Win10 just let you make your own shortcuts but doesn't look like it does.

The function "Change language bar hot keys " has a bug.

We would like to know more about your concern. Kindly provide us more details by answering the following questions:

• When did you start encountering the issue?
  
• Have you made any changes on your computer prior to this issue?
  
• Were the hotkeys settings on your Windows 10 computer ever worked before?

Meanwhile, we suggest that you reconfigure your hotkeys settings by setting your key sequence to Not Assigned. To do this refer to the steps below:

• Go to Control Panel > Clock, Language, and Region > Language > Advanced Settings.
  
• Under Switching input methods, select Change language bar hot keys.
  
• Select Between input languages, and then click Change Key Sequence.
  
• Set Switch Keyboard Layout to Not Assigned.
  
• Restart your computer.

Once you're done with the process, you may then proceed to reconfigure your language bar hot keys to your desired settings. You may follow the steps above and select your preferred keyboard layout.

When playing games the hot keys are active

I suggest you to follow the steps below to disable Hot Keys and check if that helps.

  Right click anywhere on your desktop screen and select Graphics Options.

Volume/Media Keys/AHK keys losing focus

Hi, comments more than a full solution as your mix of AHK scripts (unknown) and other software is not one I have:

1. To change the volume indicator:
Use Old or New Volume Control UI in Windows 10

2. I use Volume2 (free) - this extremely well designed utility has quite a number of options, including different designs for the volume OSD. I control volume simply hovering over the task bar and scrolling.




3. O&O regedit (free) is a good registry editor by a reputable large company with great full registry search and list results feature, and more.




(Oh, and note the translucent title bars - adjustable- can be transparent- Aeroglass..)
