  1. Automatic Updates Slow Computer Down

Hi and thank you for helping. I can find my way around my computer as well as anyone else who self taught just by necessity, but have nowhere near the depth of knowledge I have seen in responses to other questions. My problem is that the Automatic Updates for Windows slow my computer down to a state in which I just give up trying to look at anything with a photo. The best example is an auction website I like. The photos take so long to load, I simply quit. I have been unable to uninstall most updates, but the ones with the install dates 2/20/2020 and 3/19/2020 do not have an uninstall option. Any and all help is very much appreciated.

    :)

    Vista Automatic Updating Error

    Resolution Suggestion:

    # To resolve this problem, make sure that BITS and the Automatic Updates service are started..

A simple solution but one that works in most circumstances!

    1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

    2. In the list of services, right-click Automatic Updates, and then click Properties.

    3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then click Apply.

    4. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

    5. Right-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and then click Properties.

    6. In the Startup type list, click Manual, and then click Apply.

    7. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.
