Automatically save a snipped screenshot to disk

In Windows 10 you can press Win ⊞ + Print Screen and it will save a screenshot of the whole desktop to disk. This works great.

What I'm looking for is this exact functionality but being able to choose a region using the mouse.

    What I've found so far:

    • Snipping tool: Either brings an editor after capture, or saves to clipboard. Haven't found a way to automatically save to disk.
    • Lightshot: Also bring an editor, or automatically generate a link. Can't automatically save to disk

The solution can rely on a third party software that runs in background, or also AutoHotkey script.

How do I save snip screenshots as .JPG?

    Hi,

You can save a screenshot directly as a .jpeg file in the Snipping tool. You can do that by following these steps:

    • Press File.

    • Select Save As....

    • Choose a File name.

    • Select the drop-down besides Save as type.

    • Select JPEG file.

    • Press Save.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards.

  4. Automatically save snipping screenshots

Snipping Tool (WIN + Shift + S): Screenshot save location?

Is there a way to get both of these things with a shortcut:

    1. Snip of screen, rather than fullscreen (like the snipping tool does).

    2. Along with automatically saving to the Screenshots folder?

That'd be so great! It is available on other OS.
