Drag a browser tab into new window on Same desktop

On Windows 10 (version 1909, build 18363), I like using the separate desktops (same monitor) and keep a different browser on each just as I used to on Linux. But when I'm on another desktop using a browser with multiple tabs, I'd really like to be able to drag a tab off to a new window and keep that new window on the same desktop. Right now, it always pulls it to the main desktop, but I want it to stay.

I know I can go into the task pane and move it back, but that seems unnecessary.

    :)

Dragging apps to desktop for shortcuys

    Hi Lance,

It's possible that some settings are preventing you from adding shortcuts to the desktop. We'd like to learn more about your concern so that we could provide the proper resolution. We just have a few questions for you:

    • Which build version of Windows 10 is on your computer? To check, click
      Start
, type winver, and press Enter. For example, 14393.1066.
    • Does this happen when you try dragging all apps to the desktop, or just a specific app?
    • Are you using an administrator account?
    • Is your computer connected to a private domain?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

As an initial recommendation, we suggest following these steps as a workaround:

    • Right-click on any empty part of the desktop.
    • Click New > Shortcut.
    • Navigate to the folder location of the app you want and select it.
    • Click OK.

We look forward to your response and the result of the initial troubleshooting.

Microsoft Edge - Dragging New Tab to a Second Screen

I use two screens to do my work. I noticed with this new internet browser that when you are using multiple tabs and you try to drag a tab to the second screen a red circle with a slash appears above the tab. When you release, the tab appears on the original
screen as a new window. Only then can I grab the window and drag it the new screen. Does anyone know of a current fix to this, or would this be something that a future update needs to fix?
