  2. Crypted files

    Hi Barbara,

For us to provide you an accurate resolution regarding your crypted picture files, we would like to know the following:

    • Were there any updates made on your computer prior to this concern?
    • Are you getting any error messages? If yes, what is the exact error message?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far to resolve this?

We look forward to your response.

  3. Crypted files

When trying to open my pictures today, it appears that they have all been "crypted", they now show up as Adobe files. Adobe won't open them because their crypted. They are pictures transferred from the phone and/or my camera on my last computer and transferred
to the new computer. Transfer was in April '16 and they were ok, but something has happened since. Are they lost? Should I remove them from the computer. Someone suggested going into properties and removing the encryption, but it doesn't show as bein checked
    in properties. Thanks in advance.

    Crypted files

    Hi Michael:

I am unsure if there were updates made, unfortunately I don’t try to access my pictures very often. They are resident on an external hard drive, so I’m not sure what/how it happened. I am only getting error messages from Adobe that say the files can’t
be opened because they are crypted. I have pasted one above. The only troubleshooting that I did was to right click on the file, properties, general, advanced – to see if the cryption (?) could be shut off. These files started out as just jpegs with the
usual jpeg icon, and now their showing as PDF files.
