    Windows 10 stop code: Irql Not less or equal



    Started 01/28/2020

    Reinstalled Windows, did not fix

    Took it into computer repair. They reinstalled Windows $150, did not fix. They thought it might be SSD on mother board that IRST uses to cache hard drive.

    Contacted Dell. They reinstalled windows. No fix. They did turn off ssd in Bios $160.

    Dell gave me software “who crashed” so I could diagnose Windows stop codes. Most abends happened in ntoskrnl.exe with one each in stoport.sys and hal.dll

    They gave me an updated program I think called Dell assistant which ran a check of the computer. 3 drivers were updated by Dell. No other problems noted.

    They also gave me another driver updater which I ran and updated two more of my drivers. Checked today and all drivers are up to date.



    Googled “ IRQL not less or equal”. An article suggested I do;

    1. Windows memory diagnostic. Ran it with no issues.

    2. Run chdsk after boot. Ran it with no issues.

    3. Suggested I go into power options on Windows and turn off rapid reboot which I did.
