Windows 10: Kids used to be friends on Minecraft PE but cant add friends anymore.

Both of my girls set up minecraft PE on their devices and could add each other as friends and play together, then my daughter tried to add another school friend but could not because she had to sign in to a microsoft account. This has become a long journey of creating microsoft accounts and Xbox accounts. Still they cannot play together and I have no gamertag to search for for the younger child. Why cant they just play together like they used to? I am insanely frustrated by the complexity to do a simple thing-play with a friend!!!! Is there a support line that I could call?

How do i change my account to make friends in minecraft and join severs and realms?

 

Minecraft PE Xbox Live Joinable Friends

Im having a bit of a problem. When I go ahead and play Minecraft PE, go to 'Joinable Friends', It says:

"You cannot play online multiplayer through Xbox Live because of how your account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy and online safety settings on xbox.com."
I go there but I see nothing that helps. What do I have to do?

Hello my daughter wants to add her real friends as friends on her Minecraft game on Amazon fire. I have gone to Microsoft account but am confused as to where to change it..I'm not very techy...
