    Movies & TV - MKV no sound

    Hey, according to Windows 10 - Movies & TV App and MKV Files , The reason your MKVs aren't playing is because MKV is a container that can hold a couple different types of audio. Apparently, it supports AC3 and AAC audio
    fine, but not DTS. I recommend VLC media player. It works well on almost any file.

    movies & TV app can't play sound in mkv files?

    As you can read here:

    You can't hear sound probably because your MKV has a DTS audio and that's a problem for Movies&TV app. I suggest you to use VLC or convert your mkv files to mp4.

    Even if an app has audio codec for MKV and share that codec with other app, is useless, if Movies&TV app don't have the feature to receive this codecs. I'm sorry, but I don't think there is a solution to your problem at current time that includes using Movies&TV
    app.
