    windowsstore in ...\windowsapps\ was removed, i it possible to reinstall windows store?


    We used a script in our Task Sequence that removes some specific windows products from the image, including the windows store. The problem with this scripts was that it removes these programs from the ..\windowsapps\ folder so there is no way to restore these with the add-appxpackage and since the Windows Store were one of the removed programs, we can't use window store to install them again.


    So, is it possible to install the windows store in another way?

    Restore/reinstall deleted WindowsStore app in Windows 10

    Yesterday I updated Windows to 1709 and now I can't install WSL without WindowsStore, so I'm looking for a way to restore or reinstall the deleted WindoiwsStore app.

    WindowsStore app was deleted before release upgrade using:

    There now no WindowsStore package folder in C:\Program files\WindowsApps, so method:

    Possible to remove Microsoft Store created WindowsApp folder?

    I have a couple of additional drives on my system for media and games etc A while ago I installed some games onto these drives from the Microsoft Store but they are since uninstalled. A folder called WindowsApps was create on the root of these drives and cannot be deleted or even set to hidden.

    Windows 10 store app not working

    Here is, what helped me just now, after everything else failed:

    • Search for Powershell and open with administrator rights (right-click or Shift+Ctrl+Enter).
    • Search for the package name in the entry for the Windows Store by typing "Get-Appxpackage -Allusers"

      (Mine was "Microsoft.WindowsStore_2016.27.2.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe")
    • Uninstall the Windows Store with "Get-AppxPackage *windowsstore* | Remove-AppxPackage"
    • Reinstall the Windows Store with "Add-AppxPackage -register "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\******\AppxManifest.xml" -DisableDevelopmentMode" where you replaced the asteriscs with the value you got in step 2.
