Code 43 USB cords no longer work

HP Pavilion x360. I've tried a few different different cords, and none of them work. They beep, they charge, but on This PC the phone no longer shows up. I cannot access my phone, and under Device Manager it listed it as "device descriptor request failed". Normally I uninstall updates, as I've find that they tend to cause more problems then improvements. I uninstalled all the updates up until March 15 and March 16 the microsoft edge update and an unknown security update KB4541338 which will not be uninstalled to my understanding, they are set up that way. February 17, 2020 was the last time I was able to successfully connect my cords to my device. So any android USB cord that previously worked no longer works except to charge my phone from the computer.

Failing this, I tried various attempts with online guidance from articles on how to fix the issue, including uninstalling the USB Root Hub. I now cannot figure out how to reinstall it, as it is no longer listed in my Device Manager like the article said it would be. I don't know if this is an issue that is the result of an update to try to protect my computer which only results in my difficulty in transferring my photos from my phone to my computer or if this is actually an issue with my phone from a spill or is a hardware issue from the computer itself. I need to know how to reinstall my USB Root Hub and any other necessary aspect, and perhaps get some guidance on how to test to see if it's my android or hardware that's the issue, or proof that it's the non-removable update.

    :)

  2. Code 43 USB device not recognised

    Hi Vishnu,

Thank you for posting in Community, we understand your concern and we will try our best to help you resolve the issue.

Error Code 43 is a Device Manager error that means the following:

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43).

When you get this error with USB devices it’s because one of the drivers controlling the device notified the operating system that the device failed in some manner. This can be because of corruption in one of the loaded drivers and the driver cache just
needs to be flushed. An alternative to resolve this issue is to perform
    Power Drain
, to do so follow the steps below

    • Unplug the charger and remove the battery of your laptop, if using a desktop remove the power cord.
    • Press and hold the Power button for 30sec.
    • Plug the charger/power cord and restart system

I would also suggest that you refer to the Microsoft Article provided in the link below for more troubleshooting methods

    Hope this information helps.

  3. Error 43 when connection to USB ports

    Hi,

The Error code 43 implies that, windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. When you get this error with USB devices it’s because one of the drivers controlling the device notified the operating system that the device failed in some
manner. This can be because of corruption in one of the loaded drivers and the driver cache just needs to be flushed. Unplugging the computer sometimes doesn’t resolve the problem because the battery still holds power.

To resolve this, I suggest that you perform Power Drain and check. To do so follow the steps below

    • Unplug the charger and remove the battery of your laptop, if using a desktop remove the power cord.
    • Press and hold the Power button for 30sec
    • Plug the charger/power cord and restart system

For added info, you can click on the link provided below

    Hope this helps

  4. Code 43 USB cords no longer work

    USB SuperSpeed error code 43

    Win 10 ver 1709.

Device Manager always reports the SuperSpeed has a problem.

I have tried uninstalling, updating drivers and a Win 10 online reinstall (repair upgrade?). No change. I installed Win 7 to a spare drive and it finds no USB problems. Also, in Dev Mgr, Win 7 does list a SuperSpeed.

I attached snips of USB Tree and Dev Mgr under Win 10 & Win 7.

I want to make the SuperSpeed error go away.

    Thanks, everyone,
    Terry
