Cast to device from edge not working

I've been watching this thread and the suggested help is obtuse. Microsoft Edge:
Cast media to device feature can not locate his Miracast device.

The error is that the device doesn't appear on the selection list.

  On Microsoft Edge, open the website that contains the media (ex: video, picture, audio) that you want to cast.

Make sure you that you have turned on the device and made it discoverable. Try the following steps and check if it helps.

• On Microsoft Edge, open the website that contains the media (ex: video, picture, audio) that you want to cast.
• Click on the More Actions [...] at the top right corner.
  
• Click on Cast media to device.
• Windows will now try to connect to your network and detect your Miracast device.
• Click on the Miracast or DLNA device you want to cast to.
• Windows will now connect and cast to your Miracast device.

If Edge doesn't detect your device, then try to run the app troubleshooter
and check. This tool will help to fix any issues with the MS Edge browser app automatically.
