duplicate links on systray from desktop, but not pined to systray

A couple of days ago I noticed that I had icon/links on my systray that had never been there before.

When I deleted them, they also deleted from my desktop. The ones that are in both places are the same link.

I check in tutorials here, and saw they might be pined. I right clicked and no unpin was there, it did have 'pin to quick access', 'pin to start'. The rest of the menu options are there; create shortcut, delete, etc.

If it was a shortcut to any of several programs, it only had 'pin to start menu'. The rest of the menu options are there; create shortcut, delete, etc.

I am running Classic Shell, and had just exited Everquest II when I noticed this. I don't think it was there before I logged into Everquest II.

I am using Windows 10 Home, 1909. Rest of info in my computer hardware listed in my profile is correct.

I would like to get all of those extra icons off my systray, without having to reinstall software, if possible. Its not all of my desktop icons, just about 10 of them.

    Thanks.

    :)

    ActiveSync no longer in SysTray

I now have one remaining issue. ActiveSync does not open automatically when I connect my phone via USB. This is despite the fact that I have a check in the box next to Open ActiveSync when my device connects (File/Connection Settings).

My "Work around" is to open ActveSync manually and then close the window and ActiveSync shows up white in the SysTray. I then connect my device via USB and ActiveSync opens up and eventually Syncs my device.

I can live with this but do you have any suggestions to avoid the step above?

  3. Lost one item in Systray, Win 10/64 Pro

    Thanks very much Harun!

Yes it did help as it worked. I enabled it and rebooted. It appeared on the Taskbar outside of Systray and I simply dragged it into Systray.

Sorry about that! I thought Systray was a separate entity from the Taskbar, so I didn't think of looking there.

    Thanks again,

    John

Show week numbers in the systray calendar of Windows 10?

    Hi Microsoft,

Can you add an option to display week numbers in the systray calendar?

As it's already possible to enable week numbers in the Calendar app - so why not in the systray calendar as well? The systray calendar is easier and faster to click open, which is why it would be handy if they were available there as well.

I have yearned this small feature for many years.
