  1. Windows shows my laptop as having been licensed twice???

I am not a tech savvy person. I do not understand why when I perform the command windows icon +R and type WINVER it shows all info about my current windows build Version 2004 OS BUILD 19041.172 Home Edition with the licensing issued under your terms to HP twice.

Is this normal or does my computer's Win10 Home have another hidden or remote computer using my active MS Account or license/product license key? I do not what the difference is between a product key and an authentic license. Mine is digital. I thought I bought my HP laptop new. The one thing I did do was change my computer's name and recently lost access to the Gmail - Google account I set it up with and had to create a new Microsoft / Outlook email address and account for security. I still am angry with Google for not allowing me to reset the password.

I am trying to keep this computer secure but without an education or better understanding of how things work behind the main stuff people buy these for, I am at a loss.

Former victim of fraud on my phones and other computer and bank so I am nervous. Can someone simplify a response so an average person that usually understands quickly can play catch up and stop wasting her time worrying and looking at everything in my files for a potential problem?

I would be grateful. Thank you.

    :)

  2. Laptop won't show list of available networks

We suggest checking the list of available Wi-Fi networks on your laptop.

    Please follow these steps:

    • Click the Windows logo.
    • Go to Settings (gear icon).
    • Select Network and Internet.
    • Then Wi-Fi.
    • Make sure the Wi-Fi radio button is On.
    • Select Show available networks, then you'll be able to see the list of available Wi-Fi networks.

Update us with the outcome so we provide further assistance.

Same PC showing twice in under Devices in Microsoft account

    Hi Kaesu,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We will need few the following information from you to help you further:

    • How did you update the computer to 1903?
    • Did you make any hardware changes to the computer?

Ideally, if you are having a Digital License, only one device should show up in Microsoft account despite of any build version of Windows installed on the computer.

As you have mentioned, you have purchased a new digital license, I assume there are two digital licenses in your Microsoft account that is the reason you see the same device twice.

If you are facing issues in activating Windows, you can try to run the Activation troubleshooter and check if that helps. Please refer the steps mentioned in the article

    Using the Activation troubleshooter
    .

  4. Windows shows my laptop as having been licensed twice???

    Windows 7 license question

Hi. Is it possible to take a Windows 7 Pro license that's currently installed on a Dell laptop and move that to a Dell desktop and take the Windows 7 Home license from the Dell desktop and install that on the laptop? I would just be switching the licenses from one to another. I get conflicting answers. The desktop would have a new hard drive installed on it and more RAM. I would be doing a fresh install on BOTH machines using a legitimate bloat free Windows disk. Thanks!
