    I have Windows 10. After login is complete you will see the screen and all of the apps for about 10 seconds and then the screen goes black but you can still see the mouse arrow. I can get to task manager by doing alt control delete. I have held down shift and press the restart from that screen and entered the recovery or repair screen but it will not allow me to restart in safe mode or reset the computer it just goes back to the black screen. Through task manager I am able to open Windows Explorer to get to files and to get to the control panel but I don't know what to do after that. When I try to open settings I have an error message from Explorer. EXE that says class not registered. Also Explorer. EXE in task manager shows it's running but is disabled and I am unable to open the properties of it. In the Windows event logs it shows that Windows did an update in the early morning hours before this started. Please help.

    • When the screen was blank, were you able to see the cursor on the screen?
    • Did you get any error code or error message?
