Sound from speakers/earphones when audio media changes

I used to have this problem well still do, but it's all but completely unnoticeable now when using earphones where I would constantly hear crackling, regardless of what I was playing. I remedied this by going to Device Manager, Sound, Video and Game Controllers, RealtekR Audio, Driver Update, Browse Computer and Search for Driver Software, Select from a List of Available Drivers on my Computer, then changed it from Realtek High Definition Audio to High Definition Audio Device. These may not be the exact names as I'm translating this from a different language.

However, I now have a new problem. Now, most of the time when I change to a different audio medium as in I'm watching youtube, then decide to listen to some music, or if I open a game page on steam and the trailer starts, or I start a game, etc. it makes a fairly loud pop? noise. It sounds like a much louder version of the sound you might hear when plugging in your earphones when you've just started up your pc. For a better but less relatable example, it pretty much sounds exactly like the pop sound you might hear when plugging a guitar into an amplifier.

Since typing this I've noticed a strange behaviour. When trying to record the sound I only have geforce experience to record it makes the sound when I press the record button, but doesn't happen at all after that until I end the recording. Also, when it makes the sound when I press play on a video/sound file, it won't make that sound again until I stop playing it, then, after a few seconds, it will make this very quiet 'resetting' pop noise, and then if I start some kind of audio again it will immediately make that same loud popping noise. In other words it has a pattern for some reason.

If anyone knows anything please let me know, it's very annoying.

    :)

Windows 10: No Sound coming out of earphones (only speakers work)

It's a laptop (dual booting Win10[recently upgraded from win7 64bit] and Elementary OS Freya)

It's nothing to do with hardware issues

Earphones worked fine on my Elementary OS so my audio jack is definitely not broken or anything like that. Earphones work on my phone as well so i'm quite positive it's to do with windows 10 only.

No sound coming out of earphones

There's no sound coming out of the earphones, and I'm sure it's nothing to do with them because they work fine when I plug them into my phone. Also, I've tried another pair of earphones which resulted the same. However, the sound works perfectly without the earphones plugged into my laptop, the speakers are fine.

unsure if it's to do with drivers

I've tried uninstalling the Realtek HD audio drivers, reinstalling and nothing works.

However, I have Windows 10 but could only find drivers for Windows 7/8

    settings

I've googled a bit and most would suggest something like checking the playback devices but the only one on my list is 'Speakers'.

    Realtek detected my earphones

When I plug in my earphones, Realtek detected them and even popped up the notification saying 'you just plugged a device into the audio jack'

    http://imgur.com/dFqaTU1
as shown in the picture, when i toggle my mouse onto the black circle, it clearly detected something was plugged in, but somehow audio just won't play through my earphones.

Sound plays through both speakers and earphones

    Hi

After the anniversary update of windows 10, I observed static noise in my speakers. So, I uninstalled the audio driver and again installed it from HP site. Now, there's no static noise, although there's occasional crackling noise in my earphones.

The main problem that I face now is that, on connecting my earphones to my laptop, sound continues to play in both speakers and earphones simultaneously... I've tried all the solutions listed in a few other queries here, on the community, but nothing seems
    to help..

Please do help me as soon as possible... : (
