This installation package could not be opened in Sandbox

I was really looking forward to using Windows Sandbox for testing the installers I generate as result of my build.

Unfortunately, right off the bat ran into the "This installation package could not be opened …" error message. Have tried all of the options related to msi installer service, and none of them worked.

It is not clear if "new user administrator" works in the sandbox either, since there is not way to sign out and sign back in.

It would be nice to have a better user guide or online help that explains in more details what are the core requirements for actual testing of "programs" inside the Sandbox.

For example, it would also be nice to know why, when running an installation of, say, Visual Studio Redistributable C++ Package, one gets the "no memory resources available..." message even though it seems that the package gets
installed. At least it shows up under the Programs and Features.

To summarize, could someone provide a check list of core services, configuration settings required to test installation packages (.msi) inside the Sandbox.

It would also be nice to get a better idea of what are the permissions/privileges of the WDAGUtilityAccount and can they be elevated.

    Fix for Sandbox

Microsoft has acknowledged this issue now:

Windows Sandbox may fail to start with error code “0x80070002”Windows Sandbox may fail to start with "ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND (0x80070002)" on devices in which the operating system language is changed during the update process when installing Windows 10, version 1903.

    Affected platforms:
    • Client: Windows 10, version 1903

Next steps: We are working on a resolution and estimate a solution will be available in late June.
