Windows 10: Does One drive use briefcase technology?

Can I set the "Always keep on this device" setting on the same file on 2 different devices?


If I can, let's say I have 2 devices, A and B


The files are all sychronised on February 1st


On February 2nd I worked on the file on device A. I have no internet, so I did not sync


On February 3rd I worked on the file on device B. I synched. So the OneDrive file on the cloud is not dated February 3rd


When I go back to A and sync, does the file on device A gets update to the latest version, hence losing all the work I did on device A on February 2nd? Or does the system "briefcase" the file and INCORPORATE the changes I did on device A to the February 3rd version?


I hope the scenario is clear.
