Windows 10: Trojan Virus Wacatac.C!ml

Hello,


I recently bought software and installed it on my PC. However, the Software is refusing to open because of Microsoft Defender. I saw the following notification:

upon checking Microsoft defender.



I reached out to the software provider and here is what they have to say:

They say it's a FALSE POSITIVE - that Microsoft hasn't updated their certificate.


My question is: Is it positive that even though the software is certified by SYMANTEC, it may still have Trojan:Script/Wacatac.C!ml ?


I have spent money on this software, and I need it to optimize our company website

New Trojan that Demands a Ransom

There is a new virus out there discovered by virus hunters known as "Cryzip". The Trojan encrypts your files and then demands a $300 ransom for the decryption password to get your files back. After encrypting the files, the virus leaves a nice step-by-step guide of how to go about paying the ransom off. It's supposedly spread through email Spam, and has successfully evaded anti-virus scanners.
